Time to update Google Maps App

Suppose you are visiting London (and not a Londoner), and you do not have a map but just your android device and you want to find the movie theaters nearest to you. How do you do it? Most of the people would say "use a wifi or data pack on my android to power Google Maps". Now lets make this problem a bit more complex. There is no public wi-fi nearby, you do not have any talk time money left in your SIM, now how do you reach it?
Well, Google knows people face such situations and to rescue their beloved users from the same, they did something that most of us will thank them for. Now the Google Maps app on your android device allows you to save a map right into your phone, which can be later retrieved and used just like the online version without the need to go online.

Is it really that great?

Well, if you are asking this question, I bet you have not faced any problem using the online version. Wait till you reach into a sub-way and lose your way and connection or take a wrong turn while driving in a desert and realize it after 20 miles.

Of-course this update is really that cool. It saves you from a couple of things:
1. Data usage charges in case there is no public wifi nearby.
2. Slow speed of public wifi if there is one.
3. No worries about losing the map if you suddenly go offline.

I welcome this update with a big smile and a party hat. Also, I would recommend you to update Google Map App on your android device and download the map of the place you are going to visit this weekend.
